The National Weather Service has moved parts of our area into red flag warnings for today.
The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a red flag warning in effect from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday for the following counties in our area.
Clay County
Cloud County
Dickinson County
Ottawa County
Republic County
North winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts of 25 to 35 mph, and minimum relative humidity values between 15 and 20 percent are forecast.
Any fires that develop in areas with dried fuels will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity as low as 18 percent are forecast.
Any fires that ignite may spread rapidly and exhibit extreme fire behavior. Use extreme caution if engaging in activities that could lead to fire ignition.
