Two people were arrested Tuesday after they were found in an east Salina apartment that was supposed to be unoccupied.
Officers were sent to an apartment building at 2130 E. Crawford Street owned by Collier Leasing after someone reported seeing a person through a window in apartment No. 116, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. The apartment was not supposed to be occupied.
While officers were stationed at the front and back entrances, two people attempted to flee the apartment via a window. The two people, identified as Kaylee Pickering, 20, of Salina, and Dylan Woodcox, 23, of Abilene, went back into the apartment when officers attempted to make contact with them, Forrester said.

Eventually, officers made contact with the duo via the front door of the apartment, and Pickering and Woodcox were taken into custody.
Forrester said Pickering had three active warrants: two failure to appear warrants from Salina Municipal Court and one failure to appear warrant from Sumner County. When Pickering was taken into custody, she allegedly had in her possession drug paraphernalia, including a smoking device with fentanyl residue on it.
In addition to the warrants, Pickering was arrested on the following requested charges, Forrester said.
●Possession of an opiate
●Possession of drug paraphernalia
●Trespassing
Woodcox was arrested on a requested charge of trespassing, Forrester said.
