The Southeast of Saline Cross Country team’s continued their impressive early-season run with a first and second place finish at this year’s Wamego Invitational on Saturday.

The boy's team posted a meet-winning score of just 46 points, 20 clear of the next closest competitor in Wamego while the girl’s team finished second behind Eudora.

Damion Jackson led SES with a time of 16:36.5, good enough for a second-place individual finish as one of three Trojans in the top ten.

Jackson was followed by freshman Brayden Walker in fifth, Cayden Walker in eighth, Levi Allen in 12th, and freshman Jacob Bircher rounding out the top 25 in 22nd.

On the girl’s side of things, Ashley Prochazka once again led the way with a time of 20:46.3 to come home in seventh.

Abby Commerford was hot on the heels of the senior, taking 8th with a time of 20:48, while freshman Breckyn Alderson put in another solid performance in 14th.

The Trojans and Lady Trojans will be back in action for the Buhler Invitational on Thursday, September 15.
