The Kansas High School Football Coaches Association announced their all-state selections and nine of our area athletes made the cut.

The Salina Central Mustangs had two members of the 5A All-State team thanks to great seasons from offensive lineman Angel Luna and DB Jaxon Kolzow.

Joining that duo on the 5A team was Salina South defensive lineman Kayson Dietz, who impressed in a big way amidst a tough season for the Cougars.

The team from Class 3A was loaded from top to bottom with area athletes, with six in all making the list.

Chapman bruiser Eli Riegel was the obvious selection at running back, carrying the ball 262 times for 1,920 yards and 25 touchdowns this season.

Much of that success was as a result of a phenomenal offensive line, and that line was anchored by another all-state selection in Colt Sell.

Sell was joined on the All-State Class 3A O-Line by Southeast of Saline's Dawson Adams, who was one of four Trojans honored on the All-State team.

SES receiver Chase Poague collected honors with a 1,000+ all-purpose yard season to go along with just under 20 touchdowns on offense.

A pair of Trojan defenders rounded out the list with D-lineman Dalton Bunch and linebacker Matthew Rodriguez wreaking havoc on opposing offenses, combining for 133 total tackles, 43 for loss, and ten sacks to go along with nine turnovers on the year.
