An agreement for Saline County's WIC dietician to provide services to Ellsworth County received Saline County Commission approval during the commission meeting this morning.
According to information from Saline County, the agreement has been a longstanding one, however the state requires the agreement to be renewed annually.
In other business:
•Commissioners approved a request from Saline County Undersheriff Brent Melander to submit a grant proposal to the Dane G. Hansen Foundation for UAV flight procedures. The drone training would include personnel from the sheriff's office, rural fire districts, the Salina Fire Department, and the Salina Police Department.
•Commissioners approved a request from Marilyn Leamer, human resources director, to update the county's benefit plan agreement to bring it in line with required federal law changes related to COVID-19.
•County Engineer Justin Mader and Road and Bridge Administrator Darren Fishel presented a pathway to address commission concerns regarding gravel road upgrades. The six-point strategy involves a report on expenditures to date for the Special Road Construction fund, a study session on road standards, a study session on the rural primary routes, a report on costs to get to the desired outcomes, a budget plan, and a communications plan, according to information provided by the county.
