UPDATE: Small quakes strike southeastern Saline County Friday

UPDATE 8 p.m. Friday: A second earthquake has rattled part of southeastern Saline County on Friday.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.9 magnitude earthquake struck at 6:35 p.m. Friday southwest of Gypsum. It was centered just south of the S. Niles Road/E. Assaria Road intersection.

The Kansas Geological Survey reported that a 2.3 magnitude quake struck southwest of Gypsum at 5:42 p.m. Friday. The quake was centered just northeast of the E. Assaria Road/S. Cunningham Road intersection.
