Delma G. Nikkel

Delma G. Nikkel, 89, of Inman, KS, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, surrounded by family at the Moundridge Manor, Moundridge, KS. 

Delma was born on April 14, 1934, in Halstead, KS, the daughter of Jacob K. and Anna (Giesbrecht) Friesen.  On June 9, 1985, Delma was united in marriage to Abe E. Nikkel in Inman, KS.  He preceded her in death on March 15, 2012.

She was  a member of Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.  Delma was a homemaker and also worked at Goertzen Homes and was a nurse aide at Hutchinson Hospital

Survivors include: a son, LaVern (Ruth) Nikkel of Inman, KS; a daughter, Irene Toews of Inman, KS; 14 grandchildren, Shari (Dalen) Nichols, Marlin (Darla) Wadel, Kathy (Kevin) Koehn, John (Dianna) Wadel, Donovan (Linda) Wadel, Jerrold (Julie) Toews, Les (Dinah) Toews, Matthew (Ilana) Toews, Carlyle (Joni) Toews, Tim (Sherlyn) Nikkel, Teresa (Ryan) Penner, Lori (Ryan) Penner, Rachel (Mervin) Renno, and LaRon (Melissa) Nikkel; and 58 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter & son-in-law, Bertha & William Wadel; son-in-law, Percy Toews;  infant grandson, Howard Toews; and siblings, Annie Nikkel, Nellie Nikkel, Dorothy Wedel, Pete Friesen, Albert Friesen, George Friesen, John Friesen, Jake Friesen, and infant brother, Alvin Friesen

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Inman, KS.  The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Sunday, January 7, at Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.  Burial will follow at Zion Church Cemetery.
