Christ Cathedral is offering a variety of cultural and spiritual events in early March as the Lenten season begins, providing opportunities for community engagement through art, literature, and worship.

On Wednesday, March 5, the Miracles of Christ art exhibit will soft-open at Christ Cathedral, 138 S. Eighth Street in downtown Salina. Featuring works from 14 artists depicting interpretations of miracles, the exhibit will be available for viewing by appointment by calling 785-827-4440.

A public opening reception for Miracles of Christ is scheduled for Friday, March 7, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Christ Cathedral, where attendees can meet the artists and enjoy refreshments. The exhibit will remain open Monday through Friday and during the 10 a.m. Sunday services, running through April 18.

Additional events include a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on March 4 at 6 p.m. in the parish hall, welcoming attendees for a traditional pre-Lenten gathering. Ash Wednesday services will be held on March 5 at noon and 6 p.m., both open to the public.

As part of the Miracles of Christ exhibit, Christ Cathedral will also host Sunday Coffee Hours at 11:15 a.m., from March 9 through April 6. Each week, a different featured artist will share insights into their work. The schedule includes:

• March 9: Marla Kuiper

• March 16: Veazey Welch

• March 23: William Counter

• March 30: Connie Burket

• April 6: Shawn Delker

Christ Cathedral, described as “in the heart of the city, with a heart for the city,” continues its role as a center for worship, learning, and service in downtown Salina. For more information on these events or to schedule an appointment with the Very Rev. Shay Craig, call 785-827-4440 or visit ChristCathedralSalina.org.
