Both drivers were cited after an early Wednesday morning accident in south Salina.
Vanessa Franco, 34, of Salina, was southbound on Norton Street in a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze when she failed to yield and struck a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer that was eastbound on Albert Avenue, causing it to roll onto its passenger side, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. The driver of the SUV was a 15-year-old boy.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m.
The Cruze had front-end damage and was removed from the scene by Franco. The SUV had damage to both sides and had to be removed by a wrecker service.
Franco had possible minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital, Forrester said. She was cited for failure to yield, no driver's license in possession, and no proof of insurance, he said.
The teen was cited for driving against restrictions, Forrester said.
