May 3, 1931 - May 10, 2021

Mary Margaret Richard, age 90, was born May 3, 1931 in Norton, Kansas to Charles DePaul and Genevive Julianna (Dellere) Carroll. 

She was a 1949 graduate of Norton Community High School and entered training at St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing that following September.  Mary’s class was the last graduating class of St. Joseph’s. She passed the state boards for nursing in 1952 and began working as a registered nurse in the lab and surgery until 1953.

Mary met Carl Albert Richard at a dance in 1952. They were engaged shortly after and married on May 28, 1953. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2015. 

Mary was heavily involved in 4-H during her childhood and during her own children’s childhoods. She was a sewing leader for several years. Mary is a member of St. Anthony Church as well as the Alter Society.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joe and Francis Carroll and a sister, Dorothy Breiner

Sister: Genny (Ron) Diekemper of Idaho

Sister: Jan (John) Asquith of Canon City, CO

Sister: Anita Carroll of Manhattan, KS

10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren

Funeral services: Family and extended family services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 in Miltonvale, Kansas
