Salina became a hot spot for runners throughout the last decade, with more and more races joining the roster to run through town.
Global Running Day is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get moving. This day plays an important role in reminding us of the positive effects running can have on our physical and mental health and the power of unification.
"We've got 28 parks, which are great places for people to run," said Daniel Craig, Salina Crossroads Marathon co-race director. "We've got the Levee Trail System, which is also pretty popular for runners... So I think there's a lot of opportunities to be physically active and to run in the community."
Salina hosts a variety of races throughout the year, early spring with the Love, Chloie Fun Run to late fall with the Crossroads Marathon.
