**UPDATE 2:56 p.m.**
The SFD reports an alarm went off due to a motor in the lap pool heater overheating. At this time, officials are unsure if the lap pool will open this evening.
The Salina Fire Department was dispatched to the Salina YMCA, 500 YMCA Drive, just after 2 p.m. Wednesday after patrons reported the smell of smoke.
Derrick Herzog, SFD battalion chief, told Salina Post the smoke came from a motor located in the pool area of the YMCA.
There were no injuries reported.
