Gary Allan Mooney, 87, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 23rd, 2022.
Gary was born at home near Scottsville, Kansas on June 17, 1935, a son of Charlotte Belle (Hunter) and Lloyd Vernon Mooney.
Gary was raised on a farm with a vibrant work ethic. He learned a lot of mechanical and building skills on the farm and used that throughout his life. Later in his life, he worked in sales of building materials.
After he was led to the Lord by Pastor Freeman at Salina Bible Church, he attended Appalachian Bible College in Bradley, West Virginia.
Gary loved to hunt and fish and did so with family and friends as often as possible. He also collected model vehicles and coins. He always kept up with the repairs of the home and vehicles while he was able. Gary served the Lord through his church wherever he lived.
On March 28, 1969, Gary married Bille Jane Utterback at Crestview Bible Church in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Gary served in the United States National Guard for nine years.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years; sister NetaFaye Gordanier; sisters-in-law Renita Mooney, Kay Robinson, and Carla Rains (Roger); many, many nieces, nephews, grea-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Gail Mooney.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 5th at Village Bible Church in Salina, Kansas with Pastor J.J. Sexton officiating.
