The Bennington Bulldogs boys basketball team has had a very up and down start to their 2020-2021 campaign, and will take a 5-8 record into the final month of the regular season.
After beginning the year with a three game losing streak, Bennington quickly turned things around with two wins, but have been unable to find back-to-back victories ever since.
This year's Bulldog team is incredibly young, as just one senior has seen the floor all season.
Bennington is led in scoring by a pair of freshmen in Eli Lawson and Talan Pickering who have combined to average over 20 points per game this season.
The Bulldogs have also gotten a boost from a pair of juniors in Cayden Bauer and Ryker Greene, who have emerged as the team's veteran leaders.
The remaining road for Bennington will be a tough one, featuring opponents like 8-4 Sedgwick, 12-2 Berean Academy and 9-5 Solomon, all of which will be big games for seeding come sub-state time.
Once the postseason arrives the Bulldogs will find themselves in sub-state #3 with Ell-Saline, Sacred Heart, Hillsboro, Hutch Trinity, Inman, Moundridge and Sedgewick.
Bennington will be back in action on Friday when they host the 8-4 Sedgwick Cardinals.
