On Monday MLB held it’s home run derby in Arlington, Texas and Royals slugger Bobby Witt Jr battled his way to the final round, but ultimately fell one home run short at the hands of the Dodgers Teoscar Hernandez

Witt smashed 21 home runs in the opening round, then 17 to defeat Cleveland’s Jose Ramirez before falling 14-13 to Hernandez in the final, as Kansas City’s quest for a home run derby winner continues.

Asked about his performance after the derby Witt chuckled and said he should have done more curls

Monday also saw A pair of Wildcats – Ques Glover and David N’Guessan selected to the 2023-24 National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court

The NABC Honors Court is bestowed upon juniors, seniors and grad students who post a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher in a given academic year.

And finally K-State women’s basketball head coach Jeff Mittie has promoted assistant coach Ebony Gilliam to associate head coach for the 2024-25 season.

Gilliam will enter her 11th season on Mittie’s staff at K-State. During her time in Manhattan, she has served as an assistant coach in two separate stints, assuming the reins as the program’s Director of Recruiting Operations from 2017-21
