Larry Dean Krob, 84, formerly of Cuba, Kansas, passed away August 23, 2022 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, Kansas. Larry was the oldest child born to Ben and Lourine (Kasl) Krob.
Larry was born February 17, 1938 at Cuba, Republic County, Kansas. He went to grade school at Silverthorne Rural School and graduated from high school at Cuba Rural School in 1956.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served as an aircraft mechanic for twenty years. Over those twenty years his military path included Vietnam, Guam, the Philippines, England, Germany and numerous air bases across the United States.
It was while Larry was stationed at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas that he met and married his wife of 55 years, Georgia Jo Krob.
Larry and Jo spent many years and traveled many miles raising their six children Donna (Tom) Segebart of Council Grove, KS, Rita Eakins of Clyde, KS, Billie Jo Junek of Cuba, KS, Beverly Krob of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Rhonda (Brian) Coffman, of Agenda, KS and Larry D. (Wanda) Krob, Jr., of Palestine, Texas.
Larry also had two sons from a previous marriage, Eric Wayne Krob and Dirk Allen Krob.
Larry and Jo were also the proud grandparents of Stevie Jo (Abigayle) Skocny of Overbrook, KS, Blaize (Trudy) Skocny of San Antonio, Texas, Royce (Holly) Skocny of Kansas City, Missouri, T. J. Segebart and his significant other Erin Terrell, of Concordia, KS, Cory (Carrie) Eakins of Clyde, KS, Kristina Eakins and her significant other Mack, of Topeka, Kansas, Tony Eakins of Clyde, KS, Amy Jo (T) Jackson, of Cuba, KS, Roberta (Tyrell) Robertson of Greenfield, Indiana, Mark Goodwin of Texas, Emily Ann Coffman and her significant other Zach Zimmerman, of Plainville, KS, Gunner Coffman of Agenda, KS, Braden (Bailey) Hudson of Amarillo, Texas, Kaitlyn (Brandon) Wolski of Colbert, OK and Kason Krob, Colbert, OK. Larry and Jo were also the proud great-grandparents to Keller, Tage, Evie, Krisslin, Payton, Cohen, Juniper, Kenek, Cora, Cate, Shaileigh, Carter, Warric, Ember, Alyssa, Tyson, Aaliyah, Kylah and Riley.
Larry was predeceased by his parents Ben and Lourine (Kasl) Krob, his sister Darlene Nyman, his oldest son Eric Wayne Krob and his adopted son Darrell Kroulik.
Larry was survived by his brothers Darrell (Pat) Krob of Wichita, Kansas, and Paul (Barbara) Krob of Katy, Texas, brother-in-law David Nyman, of Luray, Virginia and a host of nieces and nephews.
Larry requested to be cremated. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2022 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas.
The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28th at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville and prior to the services on Monday at the funeral home.
Burial of the cremains will be at the National Bohemian (Kopsa) Cemetery, rural Cuba, Kansas with a full military honor guard from McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas. There will be a luncheon at the Cuba Community Hall following the burial.
