Animal Services employee calls police after being threatened during a dog welfare check

City of Salina Animal Services employee called police after being threatened by a suspect with a crowbar, during a dog welfare check.

According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on Wednesday at around 11:30 am, officers were dispatched to 100 block of S. Front regarding a 22-year old male Animal Services employee, who reported that he was threatened.

The man stated he was sent to a home in the area for a welfare check on a large dog. When he arrived, a man identified as 25-year old Daven Creech, walked outside the home with a crowbar and allegedly threatened the employee. SPD stated Creech does not live at the residence.

Afterwards, Creech left the area and was later located by officers in the 200 block of S. Columbia. Police arrested Creech without incident and booked him into the Saline County Jail on the following requested charges: 

Aggravated Assault and Criminal Threat.
