PROSPER, Texas - Kansas Wesleyan Women's Golf cruised to a 30-shot win in the first tournament of the spring season on Monday and Tuesday at the Texas Invitational, hosted by Friends University at Gentle Creek Golf Club.
After holding a four-shot lead after Monday's first round, the Coyotes were 14 shots better in the second round while opening up a 26-shot margin in the round, KWU shot 330 on Monday and 316 on Tuesday to finish with a 646.
Abby Donovan was the individual winner of the tournament. After shooting a 77 in the first round and trailing the leader by three shots, she posted the only sub-par round of the tournament in the second round with a 71, to come away with a 3-shot win over Ellen Lonergan of Wayland Baptist. Donovon finished with a score of 148.
Chaney Littell also made the All-Tournament team tying for fifth with a score of 159. Sarah Krenowicz was seventh with a 161. Ryann Warren was 20th with a 190 and Magen Dow was 21st with a 191.
Southwestern finished second as a team with a 676, Friends was third with 692, Wayland Baptist was fourth with 704 and University of the Southwest was fifth with 706.
