UPDATE: Flood warnings allowed to expire

Flood warnings have been issued for counties in our area.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a flood warning in effect until 9:15 a.m. Thursday for northern Dickinson County.

At 6:08 a.m. CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms with heavy rain over the area. The rain will cause flooding. Up to five and a half inches of rain have fallen.

This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 268 and 321.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Additionally, the National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a flood warning in effect until 9:30 a.m. Thursday for central Clay County and southeastern Cloud County.

At 3:26 a.m. CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms with heavy rain over the area. The rain will cause flooding. Up to five inches of rain have fallen.
