Salina police are looking for a known suspect in an aggravated assault and battery that occurred early this morning.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of East Elm shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday for the report of a disturbance, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this morning.

According to Forrester, a 40-year-old Salina woman and a 43-year-old Salina man were sitting in a 2004 Dodge Durango when the woman's ex-boyfriend drove by in a tan 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. The subject drove by several times, once swerving at the Durango without striking it, Forrester noted. He then turned around and was traveling eastbound and swerved and struck the vehicle with his pickup, Forrester added.

"The Durango suffered major driver side damage and was pushed up onto the easement. The pickup had the right front tire torn off the vehicle. The truck after striking the Durango continued and struck an AT&T utility box, and then a fence in the yard of 259 N. Penn," Forrester reported.

The driver of the Silverado threatened the man and woman before fleeing the scene, Forrester noted.

Forrester stressed that the subject is a known person and the incident is not a random act.
