The City of Salina has announced that mill and inlay work will continue this week.
Monday through Friday, APAC Shears of Salina will continue work on the City of Salina’s annual asphalt mill and inlay project. The schedule is as follows, weather permitting:
The work consists of milling the existing asphalt street surface 1.5” and replacing it with new asphalt to rehabilitate and preserve the pavement section. Permanent pavement markings will be placed shortly after the resurfacing.
The work on local streets will be completed with closures, and residents will be given sufficient notice and accommodations. Flaggers will usher traffic through the Markley Road work area; motorists will likely experience a moderate delay. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the work zones altogether if possible.
The $811,000 project is a major component of the City of Salina's $4.7 million 2020 maintenance capital improvement program.
