Wind advisories updated for counties in our area

It's going to be a breezy St. Patrick's Day over part of the area.

As such, the National Weather Service in Wichita (NWS-W) has updated its wind advisories for counties in our area.

A wind advisory is in effect from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday for the following counties in our area.

Ellsworth County

Lincoln County

McPherson County

Saline County

North winds of 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

Additionally, NWS-W has issued a wind advisory in effect from 1 p.m. Wednesday to 1 a.m. Thursday that includes Marion County.

North winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are expected.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
