THE SERIES
- The Coyotes have won the last six including a three-game sweep last season. KWU won 77-67 December 6 in Ottawa, 89-83 February 19 in Mabee Arena, and completed the trifecta by winning 75-69 in the quarterfinals of the KCAC Tournament in Mabee Arena. Ottawa leads the series 24-19 since 2006.

- The Coyotes are 4-1 with victories over Northern New Mexico and Wayland Baptist in Mabee Arena, Manhattan Christian in Manhattan and Waldorf in Sioux City, Iowa. They're coming off a 92-86 loss to Morningside last Saturday in Sioux City.
- Alex Littlejohn has picked up where he left off last season. He was named the KCAC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 22.7 points, 10.3 rebounds and five assists last week. He had 34 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and four steals against Morningside. He's averaging 19.6 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.0 steals and is shooting 54.8 percent from the field through the five games.
- Easton Hunter's averaging 11.6 points and Hutchinson Community College transfer Landon Wagler 8.6. Hunter's shooting 52.2 percent from 3-point range (12 of 23) and Wagler 40.7 percent (11 of 27).
OTTAWA AT A GLANCE
- Like KWU the Braves are 4-1. They have defeated Jarvis Christian, Calvary, Kansas Christian at home and Culver-Stockton on the road. They lost to Baker at home in their second game of the season.
- The Braves played an exhibition game at NCAA Division II Washburn on Tuesday, losing 97-57, and play another exhibition on Friday morning against Chadron State at Kansas City's Municipal Auditorium before facing the Coyotes on Saturday.
- Newcomer Keith Robinson is the top scorer (18.6) followed by returners Jayden Hibbitt (15.6) and Deondre Buggage (15.4). The Braves are averaging 89.4 points. Hibbitt also averages a team-best 6.8 rebounds.
- Ottawa is led by first-year head coach Matt Cross. He was head coach at Texas College from 2021-24 and also has been head women's coach at LSU-Shreveport and head men's coach Talladega College.
