The Southeast of Saline Trojans (1-4) will travel to Beloit tonight looking to build some positive momentum heading into the break.

SES is coming off of a 71-68 overtime loss at the hands of Hillsboro, and have fallen by 10 or fewer in their last three losses.

“We started taking chances defensively rather than staying true to what got us a lead in the first place,” Trojan head coach Bryson Flax said. “We have to stay consistent throughout and put games away at the free throw line.”

This will be the first game of the season for Beloit, who were unable to get started until now due to Covid-19.

“Beloit won’t have much experience but they will be excited to finally get on the floor and play,” he said. “We will have to match their intensity tonight.”

For SES, this will be their third game in four days, a task that provides some unique challenges for both the coaching staff and players.

“It’s difficult to game plan in one day,” Flax said. “I think it can be a little hard on the guys too. With heavy legs we’ll need to get a little more life on our shots and look into using more depth early on.”

To come away with a win and build some positive momentum heading into the break, the Trojans will need to play better than they have in their last few games, especially on the offensive end.

“We need to take care of the basketball and play unselfishly offensively,” he said. “That’s when we’re at our best.”

Tipoff for tonight's game will be at 7:30pm at Beloit High School. The game will be streamed with video and audio on Salina Post.
