A Salina man was arrested on Saturday after he allegedly attempted to pour hot soup on his wife and resisted officers.
Just before 2 p.m. Saturday, Salina Police officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of W. Ash Street, Salina Police Sergeant Kyle Tonniges said this morning.
According to the police report, 40-year-old James Brown, of Salina, allegedly attempted to pour scalding hot soup on his wife during a heated argument. As the confrontation escalated, the victim's son intervened to protect his mother. Brown reportedly threatened the young man with physical violence, provoking a potential fight.
When officers arrived they attempted to arrest Brown but he resisted.
"He resisted officers and had to be placed into a body wrap," Tonniges said. "During the struggle an officer’s watch was damaged."
Brown was arrested for the following requested charges:
Assault
Disorderly Conducted
Interference LEO
Damage to property.
