Police are investigating shots fired at a west Salina residence late Saturday night.

Officers were sent to the 600 block of Viemont Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m. Saturday for the report of shots being fired at a house, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.

A 48-year-old man and his 18-year-old daughter were in the residence at the time, as was Donovan Peete, 28, of Salina, he said.

According to Forrester, Peete had two other individuals at the residence earlier. The two left, then returned and an argument broke out. When the two left a second time, shots were fired at the residence as they were leaving.

Forrester said eight 9mm shell casings were located at the scene. The residence appeared to have been struck four times. No one was injured in the incident.
