The National Weather Service in Hastings, Neb., has issued a high wind warning that includes Jewell County and Mitchell County.

The warning is in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

North winds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph are forecast.

Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. People should avoid being outside around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows, the weather service warned. Use caution if you must drive.
