Sacred Heart Boys Throttle Republic County in Sub-State Opener

The Sacred Heart Knights hosted Republic County on Tuesday night in the opening round of the Alma-Wabaunsee 2A Substate and never trailed in the game.

The Knights scored the first 11 points of the game and never looked back. The score was 22-4 after the opening quarter and lead expanded to 46-7 at halftime.

Sacred Heart led 62-15 heading into the fourth quarter and, with a continuously running clock for the final eight minutes of the game, went on for a 79-23 win.

All 12 Knights on the postseason roster played in the game with 11 of them scoring. Max Ehrlich and Jason Marrs led Sacred Heart with 12 points apiece. Jett Samuelson scored 11 more for Sacred Heart.

Sacred Heart advances to the semifinals in the Wabaunsee-hosted 2A substate. The top-seeded Knights will face 4th-seeded Jackson Heights. 

Tipoff is scheduled for 6pm on Friday night from Alma.
