Male suspect arrested after assaulting a woman and resisting law enforcement

A male suspect was arrested after assaulting a woman and resisting Salina officers.

According to the Salina Police Department on Friday, June 6th between 6:30 pm - 6:59 pm, officers were sent to the 600 block of Jameson in reference to a domestic disturbance. It was reported that a 30-year old male suspect identified as Devin Thurston, physically assaulted a 29-year old Salina female. The two are acquainted 

Reportedly, Thurston assaulted the woman in which she received injuries to her neck, face and other parts of her body. Thurston also damaged a bathroom door, along with the victim's eyeglasses. Damaging costs were $200.

Officers then arrived to the home, but Thurston was not present. Moments later, Thurston was seen walking back to the residence and when police attempted to arrest him, he resisted. However, officers subdued Thurston and he was arrested.

Thurston was booked into the Saline County Jail for Aggravated Domestic Battery, Criminal Damage to Property and Interference with Law Enforcement.

It was not reported whether the victim received or needed medical treatment.
