The Salvation Army and the Tony's Pizza Events Center (TPEC) collaborated to provide free lunch and dinner for the community, following Monday's catastrophic storms.

Lt. Luke Hursh of the Salvation Army told Salina Post, the collaboration happened when Shane McClintock, Sales and Events Manager of TPEC reached out to make it happen.

Hursh said the Salvation Army facility did not have electricity due to the storms, so TPEC generously became the host site for the meals.

"Sometimes in the chaos of life, stress and anxiety can get the best of all of us," said McClintock. "After a night like Monday, there are a lot of people dealing with things they didn’t expect to wake up to. If we can take just one thing off your plate, even if it’s simply making sure you don’t have to worry about a meal, then it’s an honor to do that. This isn’t about background, circumstances, or financial status. It’s about multiple communities. It might have been a rough day for some people, and we just want them to know we’ve got you."
