The Southeast of Saline Trojans picked up their third straight victory tonight with a 70-60 victory over the Minneapolis Lions.
With this win SES completes the season sweep and moves to 10-6 on the year while Minneapolis falls to 10-5.
Overall, this was one of the best efforts out of Southeast, as the Trojans battled adversity throughout, and still came out on top by double digits.
“This was fantastic,” SES head coach Bryson Flax said. “We rebounded at a really high level and we were able to hit big shots down the stretch. I’m really happy with the guys, they played really well.”
The Trojans were led by four double digit scorers tonight including a 21 point performance from Eli Sawyers and a new career high 17 point night from Nakari Morrical-Palmer.
“Nakari can take over a game without scoring a bucket but on top of everything else he does for us he was big on the scoreboard tonight,” Flax said.
Minneapolis got 21 points from Nolan White in the losing effort but didn’t have anyone else over 11, as the SES defense tightened the screws in the second half.
“We have to figure out how tough we can be if we’re going to compete in and close out some of these tough games,” he said. “It wasn’t a one man show tonight, everyone did their part and when we’re sharing the ball offensively anyone can score at any time.”
SES will be back in action on Monday when the team hosts Ellinwood looking for their fourth straight win.
