Andrew (Andy) E. Krause, 89, of Hillsboro, KS entered into God's Kingdom on Feb 9th, 2023. Andy was born January 4th, 1934 in Goessel, KS to Ed and Tilly Krause.
Andy joined the Army in 1951 during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Austria where he was an Air Artillery, E6, Tech Sergeant. He was discharged in 1954 and attended welding school in Ohio.
Andy married Lois Jean Maltbie (deceased) in 1955 and they lived in Canton, KS and Marion, KS.
Andy was a well-respected welder and specialized in pipeline welding and bridge welding and worked in KS, OK, GA, SC, NY and Washington, D.C. Andy eventually concentrated his efforts to bride building and built over 30 bridges for Marion County KS. This was his preferred work and he worked well into his late 60s.
Andy was an active member of the American Legion in Hillsboro and volunteered his time for many of their community efforts.
Many will fondly remember Andy for his kind spirit as he made his "rounds" walking around Hillsboro and Marion. Andy enjoyed exercising, traveling and spending time with his family and many friends.
Andy is survived by his three children, eleven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
