Domestic Violence Association of Central Kansas (DVACK) will be holding "In Her Shoes Fun Run/Walk" on SaturdayMay 30 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The phrase â€śIn Her Shoes” has long been used to encourage others to step into the experiences of survivors. The concept is often connected to awareness events where men wear red high heels to symbolize standing against sexual violence and gender-based violence.

One of the most recognized examples is the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes movement, which began in the early 2000s as a public awareness campaign encouraging men to literally walk in women’s shoes to spark conversation about sexual assault, domestic violence, and victim blaming. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

For DVACK’s In Her Shoes Fun Run/Walk, while participants will not be wearing heels, the event name still honors that history by focusing on awareness, support, and standing beside survivors.

The fun run/walk has now been added into the Run Salina Series.

Saturday, May 30 is the date and will start at 10:00 am

Volunteers and sponsors are needed and welcomed as well.
