
Corda Jane McMillan, age 92, entered into rest on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas. She was born on September 18, 1928 in Buffalo Township, Cloud County, Kansas to Harrold “Harry” Frederick and Bertha Jane (Vandeveer) Larsen.
Corda attended District 18 grade school and later graduated from Concordia High School.
On June 12, 1949 she married Stanley McMillan at the Presbyterian Church in Jamestown, Kansas. To this Union 3 children were born, Marion, Norman, and Howard. Corda was a homemaker, farm wife and most of all a loving mother and wife.
She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Concordia and Jamestown, where she served as Treasurer for many years. She was a member of the Methodist Women’s Group and Buffalo Valley E.H.U. for 70 years.
Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, and her chickens. She also was active and loved preparing meals for Church dinners, auctions, and local farm sales.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley McMillan, Concordia, KS; sons, Marion McMillan (Kathy), Meeker, OK; Norman McMillan (Karla), Jamestown, KS; Howard McMillan (Shea), Concordia, KS; sister-in-law, Rita Larsen, Concordia, KS; Grandchildren, Melinda Miller (Michael), OKC, OK; Erik McMillan (Teri Jo), Meeker, OK; Lyle McMillan (Lauren), Shawnee, KS; Ashley Hutchinson (Brandt), Concordia, KS; Ryan McMillan (Thea), Concordia, KS; Macy McMillan, Concordia, KS; Riley McMillan, Concordia, KS; 13 Great Grandchildren with another on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.
Corda was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Bertha, sisters, Laverne Curry (Irvin), Agnes Rodgers (Edwin), Opal Gile (Clarence), brothers, Mervin Larsen (Nora), Glenn Larsen, Virgil Larsen (Ruby), and sister-in-law, Joyce Schurr (Orville).
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 1-8 pm at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
Private family funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia with Pastor Melanie Adams officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, rural Concordia.
