After decimating Wichita Independent 20-0 in a game that saw senior starter Trever Keller toss a perfect game, the Southeast of Saline baseball team wasted no time jumping on their second opponent of the day, manhandling Sedgwick 13-0 to complete the sweep and claim victory in this year’s South Central Shootout.

In addition to an early-season tournament victory, this win puts SES at 2-0, and the Trojans have now outscored their opponents by a differential of 33 runs, failing to concede even one through eight innings.

Once again, the Trojan bats roared to life early, striking for six in the first, five in the second, and two in the fifth, to put this one to bed early.

15 different batters stepped to the plate for the purple and white on Saturday, with seven recording at least one hit, and four driving in at least one run.

Once again, the Trojans were led offensively by Grady Gebhardt, who brought plated four runs himself on two big hits.

Through two games, the youngest Gebhardt brother on the team is a staggering 3/3 with nine RBI, five runs scored, three walks, and zero outs recorded.

On the bump, Landen Allen and Jake Gebhardt combined to toss five innings of shutout ball, striking out five, walking just one, and allowing just four hits.

Southeast of Saline will be back in action on Thursday, March 3oth when they make the short trek to Smoky Valley for a pair with the Vikings.
