Rodney Lynn Helzer, 74, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023.
Rodney was born in Garden City, Kansas on July 31, 1949, a son of the late Virginia "Ginger" B. (Martin) and Herbert "Dutch" Henry Helzer.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, he also loved all kinds of car racing, collecting coins, and spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Survivors include his two daughters, Tanya Landers (Daniel), of El Dorado, Kansas,
Haley Helzer, of Salina, Kansas; sons, Eric Helzer, of Concordia, Kansas, Troy Helzer, of Salina, Kansas; bonus son, Steven Helzer, of Salina, Kansas; grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Christina, Jessica, Kale, Shya, Colton, Baylee, Shyanne, Haven, Blake; and great granddaughter, Sophia.
Rodney is also survived by three sisters, Vesta Yost, of Fresno, California, Pam (Mark) Blue, of Nokomis, Florida, Shelly Reinke, of Lawrence, Kansas, six brothers, Herb Helzer (Pat), of Fresno, California, Clark Helzer (Meralyn Breer), of Richmond, Texas, Stuart Prather, of Arvada, Colorado, Larry Prather (Patti), of Kansas City, Missouri, Archie Helzer (Arman), of Gypsum, Kansas, and Jeff Helzer (Sherri), of Manhattan, Kansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Shirley Sudden, Sandra Hyde; brother, Ronald Helzer; and his companion, Terry Smith.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, August 25th at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina, Kansas with Pastor Jon Fillipi officiating.
Burial will follow at Gypsum City Cemetery, Gypsum, Kansas.
