Proclamations, vehicle purchases, and updates are among the items on the Saline County Commission agenda for Tuesday.
About the meeting
Saline County Commission is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash Street. The meetings also can be viewed on Saline County’s YouTube channel:

Agenda items
Commissioners are scheduled to consider the following two proclamation requests.
●Consider proclaiming April 2023 as Sexual Assault Awareness Month
●Consider proclaiming April 15-22 as the Week of the Young Child
Commissioners also are scheduled to consider a request from the Saline County Sheriff's Office to purchase five new Police Package SUVs from Superior Emergency Response Vehicles of Andover for $243,675. According to information in the commission meeting packet, the SUVs would replace vehicles from 2014 to 2020. All vehicles except the 2014 will have mileage ranging from 125,000-200,000, according to meeting packet information.
Other items on the Saline County Commission agenda for Tuesday include the following.
●Consider a request to award Oliver Hagg Scholarships
●Consider change orders and equipment for the new jail
●Consider a request for temporary senior executive services
●Hear the emergency management first quarter update
●Hear the engineering quarterly report
●Hear the jail project update
●Hear about American Rescue Plan Act progress
●Hear County Administrator Phillip Smith-Hanes' update
Commissioners also are scheduled to have a discussion about indigent fees.
