
Don Charles Commerford, 79, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on May 4, 2025. Don was born on May 14, 1945, in Salina, Kansas, to Charles and Eunice Commerford. He spent his early years helping on the family farm and continued that work into the beginning of his marriage. Don went on to work at Gibson's Discount Center and later at Consolidated Printing, where he remained until his retirement.
He was a devoted husband to Cathy Commerford and a proud father to Lori Commerford-Platt (Jeff), Rick Commerford (Becky), Shawn Commerford (Claudia), and Ryan Commerford (Amy). He was also a beloved grandfather to Danielle Jeffrey (Calvin), Madison Young (Shaquille), Kiley Commerford, Clay Commerford, Charlie Beus, Maliyah Commerford, Elijah Commerford, Carly Commerford, and Abby Commerford. As well as 5 great grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; Charles and Eunice Commerford; wife Cathy Commerford; his brothers, Phil Commerford, Dick Commerford, and is survived by his brother Kevin Commerford.
A lifelong Catholic, Don was a graduate of Sacred Heart high school and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Salina. He found joy in spending time with his family and following his favorite racing and baseball teams.
Don’s life was rooted in love, faith, and family — and his legacy will live on through all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be from 5-7p.m. Monday May 12 at Ryan Mortuary, Salina Kansas. A rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday May 13 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic cemetery, (Salina, KS).
