Salina, KS - Melvin D. Jensen, 91, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 surrounded by family. He was born January 10, 1931 to Thorwald and Lily Jensen in Carneiro, Ks. Melvin graduated from Brookville High School.

He married Marlene on November 27, 1955. Together were married for 66 yrs.

Melvin served in the US Army from January 1951 to 1954. Melvin was in road construction for over 55 yrs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Clinton Jensen, Harold Jensen, and Lavaughn Jensen; sisters Esther Sneath, Katherine Schneeman, and Ella Mae Laas.

Melvin is survived by his wife Marlene of the home; daughters Cindy (Tim) Hardesty, Bavaria, and Brenda (Ralph) Johnson, Brookville; son Allan (Joanie) Jensen, Hope; eight grandchildren, Kyle, Traci, Lee, Lane, Paige, Danielle, Zachary, and Brandon; 17 great-grandchildren; sister Anita Lindsay, Peck,Ks.; brothers Donnie Jensen, Brookville and Daryl Jensen, Olympia, Washington.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the Bavaria Cemetery, Bavaria.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Bavaria Cemetery and sent in care of Ryan Mortuary. Face masks are required.
