Kansas Wesleyan's Thalen Wright has been named as the KCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Student-athletes in the KCAC Player of the Week program were selected for their performances from Feb. 23-March 1 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.
Wright was masterful on the mound as the Coyotes defeated Saint Mary 6-0.
In eight innings of work he struck out 11 while scattering three hits against the Spires.
In three different innings he struck out two batters, and struck out the side in the seventh inning. Saint Mary did not have a batter advance past second base in the game.
KWU improved to 15-2 overall and 9-0 in the KCAC following its sweep of the series with the Spires. The Coyotes face York in a KCAC midweek game on Tuesday, then welcome NAIA Preseason No. 12 ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan to The Dean this weekend.
