With another day of sub-state action wrapping up results are starting to pour in across the state, including for our eight area schools in action tonight.

From today's games five local teams will be moving on while three saw their seasons end tonight.

The first game to go final featured the South Lady Cougars who knocked off Great Bend tonight by a final score of 51-35.

South was led in scoring by Sydney Peterson who dropped 19 points in the winning effort.

Great Bend ends its season with an overall record of 6-12 while the now 10-11 Cougars will advance to the sub-state final to face their cross-town rival in the Central Lady Mustangs.

The next game to wrap up saw the Southeast of Saline Trojans knock out the Ellsworth Bearcats by a final score of 70-49.

SES got a big boost from Camden-Spano-Lund and Eli Sawyers who scored 19 and 18 points respectively in the Trojans second win of the season over Ellsworth.

The Bearcats finish their season 10-7 while Southeast of Saline advances to play the Hesston Swathers, who defeated Halstead tonight, on Friday.

If you saw the matchup above you know that the Central Lady Mustangs also won tonight, knocking off Hays by a final score of 52-29.

Aubrie Kierscht and Landry Stewart led the way for the Lady Stangs, combining for 25 points in the win.

The sub-state final will feature both Salina schools as Central will face the South Lady Cougars for a spot in the state tournament on Friday.

In the only game tonight featuring two area schools the Abilene Cowboys took down the Chapman Fighting Irish for a third time by a final score of 28-20.

Chapman kept things low scoring and incredibly tight until the final quarter as the teams were knotted up at 14 after three.

The Fighting Irish end their 2020-21 campaign with a final record of 3-14 while Abilene advances to the sub-state final to take on Concordia for a spot in the state final on Friday.

To keep the local winning streak going, the Sacred Heart Lady Knights knocked off Hutch Trinity by a final score of 48-35.

The Lady Celtics end their 2020-21 season at 9-12 while Sacred Heart advances to the tournament semi-final to face the winner of Moundridge vs. Inman on Friday.

The Ell-Saline Lady Cardinals battled hard tonight but came up on the short end of the stick, falling to the top-seeded Hillsboro Lady Trojans 60-37.

Ell-Saline ends their season at 6-14 while Hillsboro advances to face the winner of Sedgwick on Friday.

The last game to go final tonight saw the Bennington Lady Bulldogs fall at home to Sedgwick by a final score of 36-29.

Bennington finishes its season at 8-8 while Sedgwick moves on to face Hillsboro in the sub-state semifinal.
