Thomas Lee Goranson, 77, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022. He was born May 22, 1945, in Lindsborg, KS to Oscar Herbert and Irma Leora (Palmquist) Goranson.
He grew up in McPherson, KS and graduated from McPherson High School in 1963. He graduated from Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS in 1967.
In 1968, he married Marna Kay Norris. They later separated.
Tom had jobs with Ryder and Peterson, Peterson & Goss before working the majority of his life at Murfin Drilling Company, retiring in 2012.
Tom was known for his sense of humor and his giving spirit. He supported many charities and volunteered earlier in his life at the Braille Association and The Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Tom was preceded in death by both parents; former spouse Marna Goranson; and sister-in-law Sheila Finkle (Perry).
Survivors include daughters Amy McCaskey (B.J.) and Shelly Larson (Josh); grandchildren Jordyn, Cameron, Logan, Olivia, Carter, Kaelin and Tatum; sisters Kay Chinberg (Dennis) and Shirley Morris (Rex); sister-in-law Lee Norris (J.D. Bobbitt); and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, April 16, in the fellowship hall at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lindsborg.
