Richard “Dick” Henry Rawson

Richard “Dick” Henry Rawson, 73, of Marquette, KS, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, surrounded by family at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
Dick was born on July 12, 1950, in Lindsborg, KS, the son of Floyd Albert and Nyla Laurine (Hendershot) Rawson. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1968 and attended Fort Hays State University. On November 5, 1989, Dick was united in marriage to Bobbie Kay Long in Marquette.
Dick retired from Johns Manville in McPherson where he was a machine chief. Following retirement from Johns Manville, he worked at McPherson Quick Lube and Rusty Bucket Liquor in Marquette. He also enjoyed farming and raising cattle on the side.
He was a member of the Marquette United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Bobbie; three children, Gwen Klepper (Jeff) of Ellinwood, KS, Kristen Leatherwood (Ryan) of Wister, OK, and Nic Rawson (Brittany) of Lyons, KS; brothers, John “Bill” Rawson (Louise) of Marquette, KS and Robert “Bob” Rawson (Diana) of Marquette, KS; sisters, Peggy Geiman of Marquette, KS and Patsy Morgan (Allan) of Cheyenne, WY; eight grandchildren, Lane, Ashtin, Grant, Jude, Clay, Kadee, Harrison, and Quinten; mother-in-law, Bertha “Bert” Long of Windom, KS; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Roy Long; and brother-in-law, Dean Geiman.
A Celebration of Life (come & go) will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The final resting place will be in Marquette Cemetery.
