Salina Police Department
At approximately 12:10 a.m.on Tuesday, July 25, Salina Police Officers were dispatched to the intersection of 9th Street and Lincoln Avenue, Salina, for a report of vehicle crash.
Officers arrived and located a white 2012 Chevrolet Cruze that had struck a telephone pole. The driver of the vehicle was unresponsive and was declared deceased at the scene. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was determined to be 18 year old Elijah Carter of Salina.
The Salina Police Department Traffic Unit responded to investigate the crash. It was learned the vehicle was traveling southbound on 9th St. at when it veered right. The vehicle then left the roadway and struck a power pole. No other vehicles were involved or contributed to the crash.
The crash is still under investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.
