Are you passionate about delivering timely, accurate, and engaging local news? Eagle Media in Salina is hiring a full-time news director to lead newsroom operations across SalinaPost.com and Eagle Radio stations — including 99KG, KINA, and 94.5 Prime FM.
As news director, you’ll be responsible for writing and reporting news for Salina Post while also producing and delivering daily audio newscasts. You’ll work closely with community leaders, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to keep the public informed about what matters most in Salina and the surrounding areas.
Key responsibilities include:
Publishing news content on SalinaPost.com
Producing and delivering audio newscasts on-air
Conducting interviews and covering community events
Building relationships with local newsmakers
Utilizing social media to enhance audience engagement
Eagle is seeking a strong journalist with experience in reporting or broadcasting, solid writing and audio production skills, and a passion for community news.
Compensation & Benefits:
Includes health insurance, 401(k), paid vacation, and participation in Eagle Communications’ Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
This position offers a salary range of $35,000 to $45,000 annually, based on experience.
