Salina Downtown Inc. is inviting residents and visitors alike to celebrate May’s First Friday on May 2 with a vibrant evening of live music, extended shopping hours, and a weekend full of community-centered events.
Seventeen downtown businesses will keep their doors open until 7 p.m., offering extended opportunities for shopping and browsing. Participating stores include Salina Selfie Station, Familia Toys, Salina Art Center, Poppy & Vine, Red Fern Booksellers, Baron Mushmouse, Flipping Fabulous, Eccentricity, Sanity Boutique, The Bath Pub, Wallie Wax Co/Permanent Jewelry, On the Pot, Blushe Boutique, Kid’s Creative Corner, and Country Seasons.

Live entertainment will take center stage at Campbell Plaza from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring a performance by Ghost Town Revival. The band is known for delivering a dynamic mix of classic rock and blues, bringing a nostalgic yet energizing sound to the downtown atmosphere.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and settle in for a lively outdoor concert. The event is free and open to all ages.
Music lovers can also enjoy a special performance at Red Fern Booksellers, where jazz pianist, composer, and vocalist Jackie Myers will bring her distinctive style to Salina. Originally from Austin, Texas, and now based in Kansas City, Myers combines jazz standards with original compositions. Her unique voice has drawn comparisons to Michelle Shocked and Amy Winehouse.
Sculpture Tour Salina UNwrap Party

The excitement carries into Saturday, May 3, with SculptureTour Salina’s annual UNwrap Party at the 67401 Plaza/City Lights Stage. Event organizers encourage the public to be among the first to see the 24 new sculptures installed throughout downtown. The event offers family-friendly fun and a hands-on way to celebrate Salina’s vibrant public art scene.
Salina’s First Friday events are held on the first Friday of every month from April through October.
