A Salina woman was sent to the hospital after avoiding a deer on a roadway.

According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office, in the early morning hours of August 20, deputies were sent to the 2100 block of S. Simpson Road for the report of a single-vehicle accident.

A silver 2011 Hyundai Sonata was heading southbound when a deer crossed the roadway. The driver identified as Diana Leos (20) of Salina, avoided the deer.

She then lost control and rolled, where the vehicle rested on its roof.

Leos reportedly suffered various cuts and due to her injuries, was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center.
