During the Monday afternoon hours, Salina Police Department (SPD) officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ninth Street and Belmont Boulevard, according to SPD Corporal Shawn Moreland.
Three individuals involved in the crash were transported to Salina Regional Health Center for evaluation and treatment of injuries.
The crash happened at 3:15 p.m. and involved a 2015 Chevy Suburban, driven by a 15-year-old male, which was traveling westbound on Belmont Boulevard. The second vehicle, a 2011 Honda Pilot driven by a 72-year-old individual identified as Bounpone Keopraseuth.
"One vehicle was going northbound on Ninth Street, turning East onto Belmont. Another vehicle was westbound on Belmont, turning on the southbound Ninth Street," Moreland said. "They collided head-on and blocked the northbound lane."
The 15-year-old driver of the Suburban was reported to have no apparent injuries, while Keopraseuth sustained a suspected minor injury. All three occupants of the Suburban were transported to the hospital.
Both vehicles were disabled in the crash and were removed from the scene by tow trucks.
According to Moreland, the driver of the Suburban was cited for running a red light.

Salina Police Department (SPD) officers responded to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ninth Street and Belmont Boulevard in Salina at approximately 3:20 p.m. on September 23.
Scanner traffic indicated that three individuals requested medical assistance. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown at this time.
SPD officers are investigating the cause of the accident, and north-bound traffic is at a temporary stand still as crews work to clear the scene.
