LAWRENCE, Kan. â Kansas womenâs basketball is set to play three Big 12 Conference games on national television, including two at Allen Fieldhouse for the upcoming 2026-27 season as the league television selections were announced Tuesday.
All three Kansas televised contests will be on CBS Sports Network, which will televise Big 12 womenâs basketball for the first time this season after sublicensing eight conference games through ESPN. KUâs first televised contest will be on Saturday, Jan. 9, as the Jayhawks host Baylor at 7:30 p.m. CT. On Wednesday, Feb. 10, Kansas hosts TCU at 8 p.m. CT before traveling to Manhattan on Sunday, Feb. 21 for a 5 p.m. CT matchup with Kansas State in the Dillons Sunflower Showdown.
Additionally, KUâs non-conference matchup at Minnesota on Nov. 18 will tip off at 7 p.m. CT and streamed on Peacock, giving the Jayhawks four nationally broadcast games this season. The remainder of Kansasâ home contests will be streamed on ESPN+.
A total of 29 games were selected to be televised by ESPN, Fox Sports and CBS Sports, giving the Big 12 its most games included in the conferenceâs television package in eight years. The total also marks a 45 percent year-over-year increase. The addition of CBS Sports marks the first time that Monster Energy Big 12 Womenâs Basketball will have three national broadcast partners in conference history. The CBS Sports Network games will be sublicensed through ESPN and are part of the Big 12âs strategy to continue elevating womenâs basketball and creating synergy between the menâs and womenâs products at the league level.
Another schedule adjustment has been announced as Kansas Athletics will collaborate with Lawrence Public Schools to create a special âKids Gameâ experience for the womenâs basketball game against Drake on Friday, Nov. 6. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. CT and the initiative will connect game day with the districtsâ Character Strong and Physical Education programs, providing second grade students an opportunity to celebrate gratitude, teamwork, healthy activity and school spirit while experiencing a game at Allen Fieldhouse. The Kids Game will be open to all school districts, with free admission for participating students, extending the opportunity for schools from surrounding communities to take part in this special experience.
Behind preseason All-Big 12 selections Jaliya Davis and SâMya Nichols, Kansas was picked to finish fifth in the conference during the upcoming season. The Jayhawks are one of just two conference teams with multiple players selected to the 10-player preseason team. Davis was a unanimous selection as the Big 12 Freshman of the Year last season after averaging 19.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while Nichols is a three-time All-Big 12 First Team honoree who scored 17.4 points per game last season while dishing out a team-high 167 assists and leading the nation with 243 free throws made.
