The Sunflower Summer program, which provides free access to over 220 museums, zoos, and parks across Kansas, is at risk of being cut. Supporters are urging the public to take action to preserve its funding.

In 2024 alone, the program:

⦁ Issued 500,000 tickets to 150,000 families.

⦁ Boosted local economies, with 76% of participants buying meals and 20% booking overnight stays.

⦁ Generated $5 in economic benefits for every $1 invested

Local agencies that participate in Sunflower Summer include but are not limited to:

Rolling Hills Zoo: A prominent wildlife facility offering diverse animal exhibits and educational programs.

Kenwood Cove Aquatic Park: A popular destination featuring water slides, pools, and family-friendly aquatic activities.

Smoky Hill Museum: A museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history and culture of the region.

The Garage: An ever-changing collection of classic and custom cars, interactive exhibits, concessions, and a gift shop for your family to enjoy. It is a must-visit car museum in Salina, KS.
